We’re Dairy Farmers Building Better Equipment.

If you’ve ever bought a piece of equipment that started solid but slowly got cheaper with every new version, we’ve been there. When big brands chase volume over quality, it’s farmers who pay the price.

BORGH is a farmer-led equipment company built on common sense and firsthand experience. We’re a team of farmers, designers, and fabricators who build tools that solve real problems and make farm life a little easier.

Behind BORGH

Milking parlor with cows standing in a circular arrangement, some in individual stalls, inside a large, modern dairy farm building.

Berend ter Borgh, founder of BORGH Agriculture, is a dairy farmer, first and foremost.

He grew up on his family's Dutch dairy farm in Leduc County, Alberta, where hard work was the family standard. From a young age, he was in the barn, troubleshooting equipment and figuring out how to make things work better, faster, and longer.

When he took over the farm, he got tired of equipment that wasn't built for the realities of dairy. Machines that should've lasted years wore out. Tools that were supposed to save time ended up wasting it. So he started designing his own solutions, combining hands-on farm experience with his background in equipment design.

What began as a few practical fixes in the shop quickly turned into something more. Neighbours took notice. Word spread. And soon, he wasn't just building for the farm — he was building for others, too.

Today, BORGH Agriculture is still farmer-founded, but more than a one-person operation. It's a growing team of farmers, designers, and fabricators creating equipment that's as reliable as the people who use it.

Why the Name BORGH?

Our last name is ter Borgh—but you’d be surprised how often it gets misspelled. After seeing “ter Bourgh” show up on everything from invoices to delivery slips, we decided to keep it simple. BORGH is easy to say, hard to mess up, and still proudly tied to the family name.

We’ve Put In The Time. So You Don’t Have To.

If you’ve ever spent way too long fixing a piece of equipment that shouldn’t have broken in the first place, we get it. There’s nothing more frustrating than a busy schedule and broken-down equipment.

That’s why we invest heavily in testing our equipment over years in the barn and the field, to ensure our time spent building quality solutions means you don’t have to put in any time worrying about your equipment.

We believe in practical, farm-tested innovation. If a piece of equipment can’t hold up to the demands of dairy farming, we won’t put our name on it.
